Volunteer Coordinator

Reports to: President-Elect
Position Summary:
Responsible for organizing
and directing efforts to involve volunteers in chapter programs and services.
Maintains communication between board of directors, chapter members and
volunteers to ensure the best possible match between organizational needs and
volunteer capabilities.

Program development

Promotes understanding of and commitment to
volunteer activities

Helps chapter leaders design new opportunities
for volunteering

Plans and organizes volunteers in
collaboration with chapter leaders

Creates and maintains volunteer position
descriptions with chapter leaders
-
Delegates unfulfilled program
responsibilities from board members and chapter leaders to individuals or
group of volunteers
-
Responsible for researching, developing and
implementing ways to encourage participation by uninvolved chapter members

Moderates the “Volunteer
Central” forum on the chapter message board

Provides content to Webmaster regarding
volunteer activities
Personnel
- Assists with sound
recruitment procedures
- Directs the matching of
people with skills and interest to the tasks that need to be done
- Provides for volunteer
training and orientation, ongoing leadership training and staff development
- Advocates for volunteers
and staff as needed
- Coordinates with chapter
leadership to propose activities and ceremonies to ensure proper recognition
for all volunteers
Materials/Budget
- Develops, recommends and
administers budget allocated for volunteer program
- Oversees the expenses
and reimbursements incurred through the activities of organization without
formal staff liaison
- Develops, maintains and
updates records/retrieval system for use by chapter leadership
Qualifications
- Member In Good Standing
of PMI – New Hampshire: no outstanding financial commitments, no legal action
underway, pending or contemplated, with PMI – New Hampshire Chapter
- Potential conflicts of
interest are clearly expressed
- Ability to represent the
Board and membership in a consistently professional manner
- PMP preferred, but not
required
